The University of Johannesburg Community Engagement Unit recently held the Community Based Organisation (CBO) Forum on the 25th of November 2024, at the Soweto Campus.
The forum provided an opportunity to reflect on this year's accomplishments across the three CBO Forums for 2024. Two distinguished speakers were part of this forum, Ms Louisa Maphoto from the City of Johannesburg Ombudsman Office eloquently emphasised the importance of stakeholder engagement and partnership. And Ms Khutso Bapela from The Education Support Forum. She emphasised pionnering change through collective leadership, reaffirming the power of collaboration in addressing societal obstacles.
"We were privileged enough to have colleagues from the University of Venda’s Directorate of Community Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Inclusive Innovation, and Commercialization (DCEEIIC), whose participation added significant value to our discussions. More importantly, Ms. Tseleng Modjadji UJCE Specialist, who guided us through the Community Engagement Partnership Form and highlighted the importance of thoroughly understanding the form to minimize potential challenges during the partnership process. In addition, your engagement throughout the forum reaffirmed our shared commitment to creating sustainable, impactful change in our communities."
As an online radio station that is in partnership with UJ Community Engagement, we are grateful for the invite that was extended to us to attend the CBO Forum event. We are looking forward to collaborating and engaging in activities that positively impact our communities.
